Growing Trade, Growing Opportunity

Meet Our U.S. – India Trade Lane Team

At LOGISTEED America, global logistics isn’t just about moving freight — it’s about moving relationships forward. Our U.S.–India Trade Lane is a shining example of that philosophy in action. Behind every shipment is a coordinated network of people, processes, and partnerships, powered by LOGISTEED America and Flyjac Logistics, our sister company in India under the LOGISTEED Ltd., global umbrella.

This week we’re excited to introduce you to a couple of the faces behind the lane: Romesh Goonetilleke, who leads customer engagement on the U.S. side, and Rajesh Murugankutty, his counterpart in India. Together, they’re part of a wider, cross-functional team that brings local insight and global expertise to every shipment.

Why the U.S.–India Trade Lane Works

From customs brokerage and compliance to air and ocean freight solutions, the U.S.–India trade lane is one of the most dynamic and complex in global logistics. What makes it work? A team that spans continents and time zones, working in lockstep to simplify the complicated.

“India–USA is an exciting but complex trade lane,” Romesh explains. “I’m energized by being of service and helping solve problems. It’s incredibly rewarding when you can be part of a team that simplifies those challenges.”

That team includes operational experts, compliance pros, account managers, and customer service specialists across both LOGISTEED America and Flyjac — collaborating day and night to keep cargo moving.

A Bi-National Backbone for Trade

For companies importing and exporting between the U.S. and India, success hinges on more than just transit time. It requires deep knowledge of both markets, the ability to navigate infrastructure and space constraints, and trusted relationships on both sides.

“India is a vibrant economy,” Romesh adds, “but infrastructure and space capacity can be challenging. Our teams in both India and the U.S. are licensed customs brokers, which gives our customers a major advantage when it comes to clearing shipments efficiently, both inbound and outbound.”

Rajesh and the Flyjac team provide boots-on-the-ground expertise across India’s key logistics hubs, while the LOGISTEED America team ensures visibility, service, and strategic planning for customers in the U.S.

The Human Side of Trade

While this is a business built on precision, it’s also built on personality. Romesh shares a fun cultural insight that reflects the kind of global perspective this lane brings:

“A lot of people in the West don’t realize how vibrant India’s farming community is. Over 40% of Indians are engaged in agricultural activity, and farmers don’t pay taxes on most farming income. It’s an inspiring model for food security, and India exports a significant amount of food products to the U.S.”

This kind of insight is what allows our teams to connect supply chain strategy with the real-world, real-people impact of trade.

Powered by People, Backed by a Global Network

Romesh and Rajesh are just two members of a larger, global network working tirelessly behind the scenes — from warehouse operations and customs filing to communication and coordination. Whether it’s Flyjac’s high-tech facilities in India or our team of specialists at LOGISTEED America, this trade lane is backed by real expertise and real people who care.
