The Import CHB / Outside Sales Representative reports to the LOGISTEED America, Inc. Miami Branch Manager. The successful candidate in this position will possess key skills and experience that includes knowledge of international air and ocean transportation of import / brokerage operations. This position requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task along with the knowledge to produce accurate workflow in a fast-paced, high-pressure freight forwarding operations environment, while positively contributing to the success of the team. Working under the direction of the Branch Manager, the ideal candidate will be able to build relationships, and negotiate with vendors, customers, and U.S. Customs, and other government agencies such as FDA and USDA.

Import CHB duties include:

  • Entry knowledge & experience filing Customs entries & ISF 
  • Classify imported commodities, filing entries, and resolve any issue related to Customs clearance with help of CHB
  • Liaise with third parties to move goods (by road, rail, air or sea) in accordance with customer requirements.
  • General logistics knowledge air & ocean
  • Work closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to deadlines.
  • Able to handle working under pressure

  • Ability to multitask and produce accurate output in high pressure and fast pace environment

Sales duties include:

  • Assist with qualifying and vetting prospective accounts and clients
  • Engage and communicate with the Operations team (both CHB and FF) to help identify and align on SOP’s that may be specific to each account
  • Work closely with overseas offices and agents in developing trade lane specific business
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact to ensure overall health in the relationship of the Company and the account/client
  • Offer exemplary customer service and support with the goal of expanding business and gauging further sales opportunities from existing accounts
  • Effectively and fairly deal with many constituents (colleagues, employees, agents, carriers, customers, etc.) via developed diplomacy and interpersonal skills to maximize sales and revenue growth within territory
  • Be an ambassador of LOGISTEED America, Inc. in the freight forwarding industry and represent the company in a way that reflects positively at all times to our customers and partners  
  • Use proven and documented accountability and coaching methods on a continual basis to develop and support the growth of a cohesive global sales team
  • Encourage staff to learn as much as possible about the Freight Forwarding industry
  • Motivate staff to take pride in the Company as part of a winning team that has the best interests of the Company in mind

  • Approximately up to 25% travel required

Preferred Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

Previous Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding operations

 Education and Certifications 

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered

  • Demonstrated experience interacting, developing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Detail oriented with ability to solve problems independently as well as in a team environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA)
  • Ability to pass all TSA background requirements
  • Knowledge of ISF filing
  • Ability to work flexible hours according to business needs
  • Fluency in English
  • Must pass criminal background check
